J. ALAN REID, JR.
Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Reid is CEO and a Founder of Forward Management, the Investment Advisor for the Forward Funds and the Accessor Funds. With 21 years of experience in the financial services industry, Mr. Reid is known for his innovative approach to developing strategic alliances and pioneering technological solutions. He was formerly a Principal and Executive Director of the Private Wealth Management team at Morgan Stanley, and a Senior Vice President and Director of Business Delivery at Morgan Stanley Dean Witter Online. In this capacity, he designed and implemented the company’s mutual fund platform and aggregation strategy, in addition to designing and building the online firm’s call centers, product delivery, human resources infrastructure and mutual fund supermarket.
Mr. Reid has a long-standing passion for asset allocation, having served as the founding member of the Frontier Analytics advisory board. In that role Mr. Reid led adoption of new asset modeling while being forced to defend industry practices at the skeptical eye of Dr. Harry Markowitz, the more recognized member of the Board.
Mr. Reid also served for 12 years on the Advisory Board for Sungard. He continues to serve on many industry and thought leadership committees, and is also a member of the Board of Governors of the Investment Company Institute, and the Board of Directors of FOLIOfn. Mr. Reid holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Menlo College, where he was awarded The Faculty Award for leadership, character, and service.
PAUL SCHAEFFER
President
As President of ReFlow Management, Paul Schaeffer is responsible for overseeing expansion of ReFlow’s client base and ensuring that its solutions meet the demands of the marketplace. Mr. Schaeffer is well known in the financial services industry as a business strategist, speaker and author with a knack for anticipating emerging trends and innovations.
He came to ReFlow from SEI, where he was Managing Director of the Investment Manager Services Group, a provider of operating services to mutual fund, alternative investment and separate account management organizations. He led that unit’s business strategy, product development and thought leadership initiatives. Prior to SEI, Mr. Schaeffer was managing partner of Investment Counseling, Inc. (IC), where he advised investment management firms on competitiveness and performance issues. It was during his tenure at IC that he pioneered, along with partner Chas Burkhart, the comprehensive annual survey, Competitive Challenges, which remains the leading monitor of best practices in the industry.
Widely published and quoted in major industry publications, Mr. Schaeffer is a frequent speaker at conferences held by the ICI, ABA, AIMR, IAA and U.S. Institute. He is active in the ICI Research Committee and the Money Management Institute and serves on the board of directors of Epic +Bancorp and as Chairman of the Board of Tamalpais Wealth Advisors. Earlier in his career, Mr. Schaeffer worked in publishing, the entertainment industry, government and public policy.
ALAN SEIGERMAN, CFA
Chief Operating Officer
With over 20 years of experience in planning and implementing growth strategies, Mr. Seigerman has been instrumental in taking ReFlow from an innovative idea to an award-winning organization. Previously, he was Director of E*TRADE’s internal consulting group developing new business opportunities including selecting and integrating third-party affiliations and acquisitions.
Prior to E*TRADE, Mr. Seigerman was a Principal Consultant at Price Waterhouse LLC assisting clients with managing and valuing their intellectual property, as well as maximizing their business performance. Earlier at IDD Information Services, he developed the first online global Mergers and Acquisitions information service now owned by SDC, a division of Thompson Corporation.
JAMES HALLIGAN
Senior Vice President
Mr. Halligan has over 40 years of experience in the financial services industry, specifically focused in institutional sales and trading. He spent the prior ten years as a Managing Director at Furman Selz.
Before that, he was the Director of Institutional Sales at Lehman Brothers running the West Coast division. His experience also includes positions at Kuhn Loeb and Dillon Reed in various roles heading up institutional trading and sales. Mr. Halligan has also been a Forward Management Board Member since 2000.
MARY CURRAN
General Counsel
Ms. Curran has 19 years experience in the securities industry. Prior to joining ReFlow, she was Associate General Counsel of Morgan Stanley and Chief Legal Officer of Morgan Stanley Online. In this position, she directed all aspects of the firm’s legal affairs, from its origin as a small start-up until its successful merger with Morgan Stanley’s Individual Investor unit in 2002. She was previously Senior Vice President and Associate General Counsel at Morgan Stanley Dean Witter, with responsibility for litigation and regulatory matters for all retail offices in the western half of the United States.
Before joining MSDW, Ms. Curran was a litigation associate with McCutchen, Doyle, Brown & Enersen. She has served on a number of American Bar Association and NASD Committees, and is currently an arbitrator for the NASD.
PORTFOLIO MANAGEMENT TEAM
JIM O’DONNELL
Chief Administrative Officer
Mr. O’Donnell is the Chief Administrative Officer of Forward Management and has held this position since July 2006. He oversees product development and internal portfolio management for Forward. Prior to joining Forward, Mr. O’Donnell was an analyst with Meisenbach Capital, conducting fundamental and financial analysis for a hedge fund portfolio as well as being involved in trading, operations and risk management. Earlier, Mr. O’Donnell was a portfolio manager for Nicholas-Applegate Capital Management, responsible for stock selection and financial analysis for large cap, mid cap and small cap separately managed account portfolios from 1993 until 2001. Mr. O’Donnell began his career as an institutional options trader. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst and holds a BS from Cornell University as well as an MBA from the University of San Diego.
MARK BAEDER
Portfolio Manager/Trader
Mr. Baeder is a Portfolio Manager and Trader for the ReFlow Fund, focusing on cash management, hedge trading and risk management for the fund. He is also a member of ReFlow’s Investment Committee. Having been with ReFlow for five years, Mr. Baeder has been instrumental in evolution of the firm’s operations, trading, and client analysis. Previously Mr. Baeder was a Research Assistant with Forward Management, LLC. He holds a BA in International Relations from Boston University.
KRISTINA MASSEY
Portfolio Manager
Mrs. Massey is a Portfolio Manager for the ReFlow Fund and a member of the ReFlow Investment Committee. Her responsibilities include financial analysis, risk management, performance reporting, trading, and cash management for the fund. Previously, Mrs. Massey was a senior analyst with Ebb Services, a financial services company that increases mutual fund performance by reducing the costs associated with daily investor flows. She holds a BS in Finance from Villanova University and an MBA from Arizona State University.

ALAN A. LORDI
Vice President, Business Development
Mr. Lordi has more than 20 years of financial service experience in the areas of institutional and high net worth investment management, investment product marketing, product development and wholesaling. Prior to joining ReFlow, Mr. Lordi served as the Director of Marketing for Curian Capital, an innovative separate account provider. Prior to that, he was President and Co-Founder of Financial Tapestry LLC, a consulting and technology company providing customized asset allocation and proposal generation tools for financial institutions.
Other previous positions include: Senior Vice President and Director of Product Development for ING Mutual Funds; Managing Partner of Sefton Capital Management, an RIA and mutual fund company located in San Diego and sold in 1999 to Kayne Anderson; Managing Director of Furman Selz Mutual Fund Division in New York; Director of Investment Marketing for First Interstate Bank of California; Director of Marketing for Pacifica Funds, the proprietary mutual funds of San Diego Trust and Savings Bank; and Senior Portfolio Manager for Eastland Bank (acquired by Fleet bank in 1990).
JACK SHEA
Head, Client Relationship Management
Mr. Shea has more than 15 years of experience in the financial services industry; specifically asset management sales to institutional investors and financial intermediaries. Mr. Shea was Senior Vice President at Dwight Asset Management where he established the direct marketing of fixed income capabilities to corporate ERISA plans. Prior to that he served as Director of Business Development for Deutsche Asset Management where he successfully marketed DeAM’s long-only, portable alpha and cash management strategies to Plan Sponsors. Mr. Shea sold fixed income products to institutions at Lehman Brothers for 5 years and began his career wholesaling mutual funds for John Nuveen & Co.
MARC RASMUSSEN
Director of Research and Analytics
In directing ReFlow’s analytical activities, Mr. Rasmussen works closely with the sales and relationship management team to provide market research, prospect analysis and client reporting. Mr. Rasmussen has been with ReFlow for three years. Prior to joining ReFlow, Mr. Rasmussen attended Santa Clara University where he received a B.S. in Finance.

MARK GUADAGNINI
Director of Operations
Mr. Guadagnini serves as the Vice President of Operations for the ReFlow Fund. Prior to joining ReFlow, he was the Assistant Vice President - General Operations for Morgan Stanley Funds Processing in San Francisco and Oakland, CA. While at Morgan Stanley, he also worked as an Assistant Vice President specializing in online trading. Previously, he held several different positions at Lombard Discount Brokerage in San Francisco. Mr. Guadagnini holds the Series 7, 63, 24 licenses and he graduated from St. Mary’s College of California with a BA in Management.
DARRELL DAVIS
Chief Technology Officer
Prior to joining the ReFlow team, Mr. Davis served as the Chief Technology Officer and Executive Vice President at Morgan Stanley Online, directing a team that was responsible for new development, research and technical direction for the award-winning Internet brokerage. Prior to being promoted to CTO, Mr. Davis was Senior Vice President and Director of Technical Operations, where he played an integral role in the strategy and implementation of the firm’s technology since 1995. He helped define and execute the technology that earned Morgan Stanley Online the distinction of being the only online brokerage accorded a four star rating by Barron’s four years in a row (1996-1999). In addition, Mr. Davis played an integral role in a large-scale expansion of two production data centers, as well as technology migration and integration with trading systems. Prior to Morgan Stanley Online, he headed the Unix Support Group for Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory.
JENNIFER WONG
Operations Manager
Ms. Wong oversees client implementation projects as well as daily ReFlow operations. She came to ReFlow Management from the operations team at Forward Management. Prior to that, she was Senior Finance Associate at Montgomery Asset Management, focused on corporate accounting; Senior Accountant at Maxim Property Management; and Assistant Supervisor at Franklin/Templeton Worldwide in the Treasury Accounting Control Department. Ms. Wong holds the Series 6 and 63 licenses.
REFLOW EUROPE TEAM
SIMON BARNES
General Manager
As General Manager and head of the Luxembourg office, Mr. Barnes is spearheading the firm’s expansion into the UCITS market. He is responsible for overall management of ReFlow’s European business, including marketing to Luxembourg- and Dublin-domiciled funds, client service, and operations. He also helps to shape ReFlow’s research program on anti-dilution issues and other trends affecting UCITS funds. He is an active participant in the Association of Luxembourg Fund Industry (ALFI) and other regional industry groups.
A European fund industry veteran who has worked in Luxembourg since 1986, Mr. Barnes spent much of his career at ING Group, where his positions included General Manager of Operations. He also headed ING’s Management Consulting department, where he led a major funds outsourcing project and consulted on a successful bank merger. More recently, he worked for the European Fund Administration, a major independent fund administration specialist, where he was involved in fund implementation and relationship management for EFA’s key accounts. Mr. Barnes holds graduate and post-graduate degrees from the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge, as well as an MBA from The Judge Institute, Cambridge.
JASON REA
Vice President, Business Development
Mr. Rea has more than 20 years of diverse financial services industry experience including positions with Deloitte Consulting, Nordea Bank, and the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, the UAE’s sovereign wealth fund.
Most recently he was responsible for sales in the UK market for Kneip, a provider of communications services to the funds industry. He previously worked as investor relations manager at SES, a geo-stationary satellite company. Other positions he has held include chief internal auditor, compliance officer, senior project manager, and account manager. In the course of his career, he has lived and worked in the U.K., Australia, Abu Dhabi, Switzerland, and Luxembourg.
Mr. Rea studied law and accounting at Oxford, holds an MBA from Warwick Business School, and is a U.K. Chartered Accountant.
